When couples think of a location for their engagement session in Ottawa, the Canada War Museum is not always the most obvious choice. Afterall, it is tough to imagine getting photos taken - which are meant to show off your love and commitment - in a backdrop of war. But the Museum offers many fantastic photo opportunities, primarily because of its unique architecture, which includes straight and symmetrical lines and a green roof spanning 10,684 square metres (the largest of its kind in North America). It also houses warplanes, which can definitely add a cool factor to your wedding reception.
Colleen & Kyle | Orchard View Wedding | Dec. 30, 2017
Colleen and Kyle's big day had everything you could ever want from a winter wedding! First, it was Gatsby-themed, so naturally, the decorations were inspired by the 1920s-era, from their sitting chart to the table menus. There were these prohibition crate boxes where their wedding favours were placed, and their care had these beautiful gold flakes. Their attire, too, was inspired by the era. The ladies had feather flappers for hairpieces and a matching fur shaw for the cold, while the gents had suspenders; the ring bearer even had this adorable tweed newsboy hat!!!!

Julia + Phil / Stonefields Weddings, Carleton Place
It is easy to photograph couples who you can see yourself being friends and I think this is certainly the case with Julia and Phil. I first met Julia and Phil back in the fall when they had their engagement session at Andrew Haydon Park. They were still in the midst of planning their wedding and, as with most couples, they were a little nervous about being in front of the camera. But they quickly warmed up and we were able to produce images with lots of laughter and fun. Their wedding earlier this summer was no exception!
South + Eli / Le Belvedere, Wakefield, QC
One of the first weddings I photographed this season is South and Eli's beautiful wedding at Le Belvedere in Wakefield, Quebec. If you have never been to Le Belvedere or to Wakefield for that matter, you should make a plan to visit. Wakefield is one of the prettiest little towns along the Gatineau River. It is a wonderful mixture of nature, art, and good food.
