It is easy to photograph couples who you can see yourself being friends and I think this is certainly the case with Julia and Phil. I first met Julia and Phil back in the fall when they had their engagement session at Andrew Haydon Park. They were still in the midst of planning their wedding and, as with most couples, they were a little nervous about being in front of the camera. But they quickly warmed up and we were able to produce images with lots of laughter and fun. Their wedding earlier this summer was no exception!
Julia and Phil had their wedding at the gorgeous Stonefields Heritage Farm in Carleton Place. They said their "I do's" on Stonefields' lush lawn, where I am pretty sure everyone cried, laughed, and aww-ed during the ceremony! One of their ring-bearers was adorably wearing a heart-shaped sign that says: "Uncle Phil...here comes the love of your live!" After the ceremony, Julia and Phil's wedding portraits were taken onsite. With 120 acres of land, complete with log barns, rustic fences, a water well and even a little hill, Stonefields is a wedding photographer's dream venue!
The dinner party was both hilarious and touching! I have always said that one of the many ways you can keep your guests entertained is to pick MCs who will make sure that there is never a dull moment. Wojtek and Donny, Phil's groom's men/MCs, did just that! Not to be outdone, Sandy (Julia's Maid of Honour) rapped her speech to the beat of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air! Its during moments like these when I wish I was a videographer instead. Lastly, hearing Julia and Phil's parents talk about them as individuals and as a couple, give them marriage advice, and wish them endless happiness definitely tugged at my heartstrings.
