Colleen and Kyle's winter wedding at the beautiful Orchard View Wedding and Events Centre was our last 2017 wedding and what a fantastic way it was to end our year!
While Colleen and Kyle booked us a long time ago for their wedding, I did not meet them until three weeks before their wedding date when we scheduled a last-minute engagement session. You might recall Colleen and Kyle engagement photos from our previous blog post about the ByWard Market. These guys are awesome to photograph. They are both hilarious and both so in love; a perfect combination to create authentically fun photos!
Colleen and Kyle's big day had everything you could ever want from a winter wedding! First, it was Gatsby-themed, so naturally, the decorations were inspired by the 1920s-era, from their sitting chart to the table menus. There were these prohibition crate boxes where their wedding favours were placed, and their care had these beautiful gold flakes. Their attire, too, was inspired by the era. The ladies had feather flappers for hairpieces and a matching fur shaw for the cold, while the gents had suspenders; the ring bearer even had this adorable tweed newsboy hat!!!!
The speeches through the evening from the bridemaids, best man, to Colleen and Kyle's uncle and moms brought the hall to tears. These speeches also reflect what is most important to Colleen and Kyle: their family.
For their first dance as wife and husband, Colleen and Kyle had a ribbon dance, as is customary in Italian weddings. The dance involved Colleen's bridesmaids holding ends of the ribbon while they dance at the centre of it. The colourful ribbons wrapped around them, tieing them up as they continue to dance. What a beautiful and colourful way to end the night!
Special thanks to the following our friends Orchard View and Quality Entertainment who made this day amazing for Colleen and Kyle.
