Happy Monday all! Because we’re on lockdown again, we haven’t been able to do any engagement sessions at all this winter! Winter engagement sessions are one of our favourites, as it is often a fantastic change of scenery from all the summer wedding scenes. One of the things we recommend to our couples for their engagement session is to have engagement photos that contrast with their anticipated wedding scenes. So, for example, if you are going to have a wedding in a winery surrounded by grapevines, it might be a nice contrast to have an engagement session in an urban setting with lots of architecture. If you are having a summer wedding, do your engagement session in fall or winter!
Last year, before all this craziness happened, we had a blast photographing Sophia and Brendan’s engagement photos. I remember this day being unusually warm, but we were blessed with fresh snow and some flurries, which totally made for some romantic scenes. Sophia and Brendan were awesome to photograph! They were game to pretty much anything, including running ankle-deep in the snow and dancing in public. We did end up going to the pub after this shoot for some indoor shots (we’ll show those scenes in a separate blog). Check out how adorable these two are together!
